onward to sendai

yesterday was a lot. i left tokyo at around 11:30. the bullet train takes an hour and a half, so i was officially in sendai by 1:30.

for the first time on this trip, i am staying at a hotel rather than an airbnb. check in at the hotel wasn’t until 3, so i had an hour and a half to kill. unfortunately, i was absolutely exhausted. so i just hung out around sendai station taking pictures of birds until 2:45.

i knew i was going to crash hard as soon as i got to the hotel, so i went and got ol’ reliable.

this is like, the #1 thing from japan i wish the hardest existed in america. its like $2 for a piece of 8.5/10 fried chicken. every convenience store has a version of this, but family mart’s is the best.

thats the whole post today. my next 2 days in “sendai” are gonna be crazy. i put it in quotes because unfortunately both my days here aren’t actually being spent in sendai. i’m going to the nearby town of matsushima tomorrow, and to a mountain temple in yamadera that is considered one of the most beautiful sights in the whole country on wednesday.
